8th Annual Scientific Meeting and AGM


The 8th annual scientific meeting and AGM of the Primary Care Surgical Association (PCSA) will be held in the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8 on Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th September 2019. This meeting will be of interest to GPs, GP trainees and nurses providing procedures in primary care including skin, hair and nail surgery, joint injections, LARC insertion and vasectomies.

The meeting will attract generous external CPD credits and GMS study leave entitlements

Ross Ardill Memorial Prize 2018

Applications are invited for The Ross Ardill Memorial Prize, which is open to all medical students, GP trainees and all members of the Primary Care Surgical Association (PCSA) and the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care (ASPC-UK).

The prize for the best presented paper will include a perpetual trophy and a Promed gift voucher to the value of €500 kindly sponsored by A Menarini. There will also be a gift voucher for the best poster to the value of €200. The following conditions apply:
The paper or research must be related to the area of primary care surgery. This could include original research, case presentation, new techniques, an audit etc. 

Any ordinary member of PCSA and the ASPC (UK) who is in good standing (subscriptions paid up to date) is eligible to apply. Medical students and GP trainees who are not members of PCSA may also apply.

Applicants are required to submit a single A4 page abstract (size 12 font, Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing) in an email to our awards Coordinator Dr Kieran McCabe


Researcher name, work address, email address and telephone number should be included on a separate page. Please indicate if you would rather present your paper orally or by poster?

Please submit your abstract to Dr Kieran McCabe before 5pm on Friday, 6th Sept 2019.
